BLOG POST 4.5 | BETA BRAINSTORM 2

Brainstorming for your BETA Project - Post a 250-500 word description of your beta project idea. Whatever you are thinking at this point IS NOT SET IN STONE. This is your first brainstorm session. (This can be culled from Blog Entry notes & ephemera). **However, this is still a professional proposal. Please pay attention to spelling and grammar. Points to address:
1) Form : Are you thinking of a mobile, small-screen application? a non-linear narrative or documentary? a game? an experimental artwork? an application linked to live performance?
2) Content : What needs, interests, political causes, or commercial interests are you motivated to address? What makes your idea unique? Are you going to produce a nonlinear narrative, an interactive painting, or a service, an entertainment, an education, or some other platform?
3) Who are your viewers/users/audience? Create a demographic.
4) Little Picture|Big Picture - Conceptualize both in terms of what you think you can produce in a 15 week semester and the potential you see for this idea down the road (when you have more time, resources, assistants and backing).
1. I am now thinking to change my beta project to a mobile application that will allow users to connect with the street art throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn on an easy level. The technology would be wither to either locate your position in the city and based off of this direct you to the street art that is available in your area. It would also include an improved version of the game I made from my previous version. This would stand as an application that would provide a service to is users who are interested in seeing different forms of street art.

2. This project will meet the needs of users who are interested and finding out more about the types of street art that they can view and will provide insight as to what the artwork is about , where it was found etc. There will also be a game included in this application as well as an interactive component that would allow the user to take hold of a virtual spray can and paint with it on the application and then share their designs with their friends.

3. The demographic that I am trying to reach is a young audience 18-30 who are interested in non traditional art forms and are interested in street art. While this could apply to anyone I want the look and feel to be very precise and streamlined for a younger audience. I also am targeting specifically a NY audience because that is the art that I will be referring to however there is room for this idea to grow and spread to other cities such as Los Angeles.

4. The little picture is that I am able to complete both the interactive spray can component and the concept of the locating your position for certain neighborhoods in Brooklyn. The big picture is that this is a fully functional app that could also potentially spread to other cities and then worldwide. While this is my first time working with flash I am not very well versed in the coding languange so I am more focussed on making something that works rather than trying to add to many components to the piece that would end in failure so my main mission is to gather the photos of the art and pursue this for the neighborhoods in Brooklyn of Clinton Hill, Park Slope, and Williamsburg and in The East Village and Soho in Manhattan.
